Boris Johnson lauds Digital Shadows’ $8m funding round
11th February 2015

Boris Johnson has publicly congratulated Digital Shadows following their $8m funding round.
The round was led by US venture capitalists Storm Ventures, with TenElevenVentures and Digital Shadows’ seed investors Passion Capital also participating.
This round will kick start Digital Shadows move to the USA. The cyber-security specialists are planning to maintain a strong UK presence whilst opening offices in both New York and San Francisco.
Boris Johnson, currently on a fintech tour of the US, was quick to congratulate the company, “Digital Shadows is another fantastic example of why US investors are turning to London’s tech talent.
“My export programme is opening doors for forward thinking firms like Digital Shadows to explore trade opportunities in the United States and to expand their networks. I want to encourage even more of London’s companies to benefit from exporting to this dynamic market, building on the strong existing ties with the UK.”
Digital Shadows were one of the first members of Level39, and were the first company to graduate to our High Growth Space: 42 in 2013.
Their founder, Alastair Paterson (pictured above with Boris Johnson at the Level39 launch), was delighted with the news:
“Our investors bring a wealth of expertise that will be invaluable to Digital Shadows as we commence the next stage of our growth plan. It was vital that we found the right fit in terms of culture, contacts and experience.
“We feel we have assembled some of the very best in terms of technology and investment expertise globally and can’t wait to grow the business with them starting with the largest market in the world for cyber security services – the United States.”
