CityFALCON wins six-figure R&D grant from Malta Enterprise; collaborates with University of Malta

Level39 member CityFALCON, the financial data and real-time content platform, has secured funding for R&D activities in Malta via a grant provided through Malta Enterprise.
The company opened their Malta branch in summer this year, and subsequently secured a data-science partnership with the NLP team at the University of Malta.
Following the launch of CityFALCON’s regional headquarters, the company will expand its backend systems to languages beyond English – the office will also serve as a base for EU operations. The grant for the project will support Natural Language Processing-driven, multilingual financial news and content search solutions.
The company already uses AI and NLP to seek out the most relevant and important content for users with native accuracy. As part of the project, CityFALCON is collaborating with the University of Malta, where two researchers in natural language processing will be providing guidance on the project.
