eToro raise $27m from Ping An & SBT Venture Capital

Level39 member eToro today announced that they have raised $27m in funding from Ping An Ventures and fintech fund SBT Venture Capital.

Ping An Ventures are the venture-arm of China’s largest financial services company, and SBT Venture Capital are a specialist fintech fund.

eToro are award winning pioneers in the ‘social trading’ space. In their own words, eToro users can “tap the wisdom of the crowd” in order to make smarter investments.

Mircea Mihaescu, the Managing Partner of SBT Venture Capital, was excited to have made this investment, and named eToro as the company that started the revolution, “Social Investment is changing the way people trade and invest as part of a revolution started by eToro and we are thrilled to partner with such a successful and promising company”.

Yoni Assia (pictured above on BBC2) CEO of eToro, believes that he has found two investors that share his vision.

“We share a vision to empower retail investors all over the world to trade and invest in a social and transparent way, and we’re proud to partner with two of the largest financial institutions in the world to lead this revolution”.

eToro have been Level39 members for over 18 months now, and recently moved into a larger office space. Yoni Assia signed his company up as office members after declaring, “I spend so much time speaking in your event space, we might as well be based here!”
