IW Capital is a strong supporter of UK scale-ups and SMEs and, as a small – lower mid-market cap private equity house, they have now invested well over £100m in growth capital across a range of businesses. In 2021, IW Capital deployed c.£20m, adding to their portfolio with new investments and supporting the growth of existing portfolio with follow on funding. Their investments are across a variety of sectors, including most recent Healthcare and Environmental.

They actively target investment in growing businesses with strong market positions and typically provide c.£2 million to £3 million in an initial investment, through a creative range of equity-based structures. IW Capital are sector agnostic and focus on development capital, management buy outs and equity release investment.  The IW Capital team and network has substantial collective experience, as both investors and entrepreneurs, which they utilise to effectively support their portfolio companies.

This session will be hosted exclusively for Level39 members by Alex Petri, Investment Director at IW Capital.  Alex has over 12 years of investment experience with a key role in sourcing, investing, and managing new businesses and technologies. Prior to joining IW Capital, he spent a number of years managing investments for UK Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, building comprehensive strategies for global SMEs, and managing a portfolio of large infrastructure investments in Latin America. Alex is an Engineer and a City University of London MBA Graduate with a concentration in investment management.
