OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect: Basics and Advanced Topics
19th February 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This meetup is led by Level39 member, Authlete to provide introduction to basics and advanced topics of OAuth / OpenID Connect (OIDC) standards.
OAuth and OIDC are well-adopted open standards for API authorisation and identity federation. But some of developers and architects are still struggling to understand these specs and often failing to deploy them for services securely.
In this meetup, Takahiko Kawasaki and Nat Sakimura will talk a wide range of topics on OAuth / OIDC from the core concept to the latest efforts in defining extensions as well as industry-specific profiles like Financial-grade API specifications, which UK Open Banking relies on.
Takahiko Kawasaki is a co-founder of Authlete, implementing the specs into the Authlete service https://www.authlete.com/ and providing his insights as blog entries at https://medium.com/@darutk/, which are popular among engineers using OAuth/OIDC.
Nat Sakimura is a well-known identity and privacy standardization architect at Nomura Research Institute and the Chairman of the Board of the OpenID Foundation and MyData Japan. Besides being an author of such widely used standards as JWT (RFC7519), JWS (RFC7515), OAuth PKCE (RFC7636) and OpenID Connect, he helps communities to organize themselves to realize the ideas around identity and privacy.
Agenda:
15:00-16:30 Presentation by Takahiko Kawasaki (Authlete) and Nat Sakimura (OpenID Foundation)
16:30-17:00 Discussion and networking
