Andrew Doukanaris brings a fairly unique set of skills, learnings and experiences to the Level39 mentors programme. During his career he has lived in London, New York, Singapore, and San Francisco. As head of UK, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and then global card marketing and loyalty for Chevron/Texaco/Caltex he developed and led the execution of the digital payments transformation across their global retail outlets and millions of loyal customers.

For a decade he held various senior positions at Visa Europe and Visa Inc, as head of retailing, commercial card issuance, and merchant acquiring. He was a management consultant at Mastercard Middle East and senior vice president at JCB, the Tokyo based card scheme. Many of the contactless payment initiatives across Europe were led by Andrew – including Visa contactless in Black Taxis ahead of the London Olympic Games.

In 2014 he established Flotta Consulting, his own bespoke consulting practice to focus on the growing but underserved FinTech sector. Andrew and his team have been engaged by some of the largest global payment and retailing organisations and FinTechs. Since joining the Level39 mentoring programme, Andrew has been a Board Advisor, Business Director, Chair of the Board, and CEO of four Level39 companies.

He also finds time to be a moderator/contributor on numerous payment and FinTech panels, as well as a sought after podcaster and is an active Ambassador at The UK Payments Association. His most recent venture is as CEO of a UK open banking platform due to go live in late 2023.

Andrew brings a realistic, honest and easy to understand strategic approach to all aspects of digital payments, loyalty, leadership and diversity – along with a global network which is second to none. Andrew believes it is a privilege to be a mentor at Level39 and is a key advocate of the eco-system.
