EY Champion Female Fintech Founders
27th June 2014

Level39’s Claire Cockerton formed part of EY’s 25-strong panel of female fintech founders.
The UK’s financial technology scene is booming, and EY are keen to shine a light on and convene the dialogue between this group of pioneering women. The subjects debated included the challenges and triumphs of authorisation, the promise of crowdfunding platforms, recommendations about working with the regulator more effectively, and if and how the payments infrastructure can be opened to innovators and new entrants.
We can’t delve into too much further detail as the discussion was under the Chatham House rule, but Claire Cockerton commented,
“This was one of the most intelligent and dynamic discussions of the year. These great entrepreneurs are breaking down barriers-to-entry with their phenomenal tenacity”
Angelina Kouznetsova hosted the event, and was quick to praise those around the table,
“It was a pleasure to host an evening for highly talented and inspiring woman in the industry that generated a diverse debate on current issues and potential solutions. The quality of discussion we had and the level of enthusiasm in the room was inspiring”
Claire’s participation in this event comes less than a week after she co-hosted ‘Finance for Female Entrepreneurs.’ This event formed part of London Tech Week, and was a boundary-breaking evening that focused on the issues that female entrepreneurs face when attempting to raise funding, and explored the reasons behind the lack of women at the ‘other end of the tables’, as angels and VCs.
