HACK THE RACK: APPLICATIONS OPEN

Hack the Rack 2014, the first retail-technology hackathon to take place at Level39, is now on the lookout for hackers.

The hackathon, which is being sponsored by Datawatch and designed and delivered by Pivotal Innovations, is recruiting developers, data scientists and business enthusiasts to participate in the two day hack. If you want to get involved, check out the event page.

Datawatch, who specialise in visual data discovery, will share a free copy of Datawatch Desktop sofware with all participating hackers.

“This challenge is about rapid and collaborative prototyping of solutions that drive business insight and customer engagement.  The innovations we are seeking to foster will deliver a better understanding of retail customers, their attributes, behaviours, and needs, and link this information to intelligent backend operational systems.”

Claire Cockerton, CEO Pivotal Innovations

Several well-known retailers will also supply the two day event with prizes, APIs, datasets, and expert mentoring. Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
