Localz have won JLAB, John Lewis’ first ever technology accelerator competition.

Lolcalz’s technology enables retail stores, such as John Lewis, to pinpoint exactly where there customers are shopping within their stores.By utilising a combination of iBeacon technologies, WiFi, GPS, QR codes and NFC, Localz can deliver contextualised and tailored information straight to the shoppers’ phone.

The three month competition was hosted on Level39’s High Growth Space, which is located on the 42nd floor.

The finalists moved in three months ago with great fanfare from the John Lewis top brass, and will continue to work with the retail giant as part of their prize. As quoted in Sophie Curtis’ piece on The Telegraph, Head of Level39 Eric Van der Kleij commented,

“Retail is one of the hottest sectors at present, with omni-channel and the pursuit of the perfect relationship between physical and mobile paramount in the minds of everyone in the industry.”

“Companies like Amazon and Alibaba are leading the charge on a mammoth scale, while physical retailers are benefitting from innovation in supply-chain management and customer relations.”

“John Lewis is demonstrating that they not only want to stay at the forefront, but potentially lead, the market in this area.”
