Innovate Finance & Level39 members join Boris Johnson’s Fintech Mission to the USA
9th February 2015
Innovate Finance and a handful of Level39 members have joined Boris Johnson’s fintech mission to the USA.
Beginning today, the goal of the mission is to build stronger fintech trade-routes between London and New York. In addition to supporting UK fintech companies who want to move stateside, the ambition is to attract NYC’s Europe-bound fintech startups to London.
Innovate Finance, the industry body for the global fintech sector in Britain, is joining the tour to help ‘bang the drum’ for the UK’s financial technology ecosystem.
Innovate Finance launched at Level39 in August 2014, and since then have grown their membership and influence in the fintech sector.
Claire Cockerton, CEO of Innovate Finance and London Tech Ambassador (pictured above at the launch) has said, ‘Critical to our sector’s success is international trade and investment ties, with other centres of excellence in Finance.
‘We strongly believe that fintech is a valuable proposition for the global marketplace and has the potential to improve not only the way we bank and do business, but who is included and the value for money people receive from financial products and services.’
