Innovate Finance partners Open University on FinTech course
5th August 2015
FinTech trade body and Level39 member Innovate Finance has teamed up with the Open University to launch an online introductory course on financial technology.
The 50-hour course will examine the origins of FinTech and its role in transforming financial services since the economic crash of 2008.
The curriculum has been shaped with input from Innovate Finance members including The Real Asset Company, MasterCard, Lloyds Bank and Percentile.
Liz Moody, senior lecturer at the Open University, says: “The brief for this course was to demystify a new era of financial services unfolding in the UK.”
“Traditional banking models and financial systems face uncertain futures and startup founders seeking a foothold in the marketplace will be encouraged to think critically about the implications and opportunities of changes happening in the FinTech ecosystem.”
