Technology giant Intel Corporation has partnered with Pivotal Innovations and Level39, Europe’s largest accelerator space of its kind at Canary Wharf, to link up with the EMEA tech startup community. Aimed at startups in the financial technology, retail and smart cities industries, this collaboration will enable high growth companies to access Intel’s industry expertise and contacts, and help young firms reach their next stage of growth.
This unique nine-month initiative has been designed and delivered by Pivotal Innovations, the ecosystem design and innovation programming experts at Level39. Over the nine months Intel will provide access to its latest hardware innovations to the Level39 community through installations within the accelerator’s technology tunnel. This will be accompanied by a series of tech demos and cross-pitching sessions. By opening up related data sets and much needed building blocks of product development, Intel will empower the Level39 community to experiment and collaborate with the next generation of hardware.
Senior executives from Intel will also provide mentoring and knowledge sharing through a series of exclusive seminars and 1:1 meetings with the startups based at Level39. In return, this will further cement Intel’s reputation of being at the forefront of emergent and innovative trends in the industry.
Claire Cockerton, CEO Pivotal Innovations & Deputy Head Level39 said:
“This is one of the world’s biggest technology companies, joining the Level39 community, and opening up their technology, data and executive-level expertise to work at a very granular level with our startups. We expect some beautiful business opportunities and product ideas to emerge from this collaboration.”
Ian Jones, UK Smart Cities Director at Intel said:
“Working with Level39 will enable us to get closer and build more collaborative relationships with these industries and their ecosystems in London. We are excited to provide in-depth access to Intel resources to further accelerate the enablement of technology in this fast moving and innovative environment.”
Level39 was set up by the Canary Wharf Group plc to help high-growth tech companies grow in an optimum environment with the potential to become long-term occupiers. Since opening its doors in March 2013, Level39 has also played host to over 30,000 visitors and 200 industry events. Other key collaborations include John Lewis’ JLAB, Microsoft Ventures Accelerator London programme and Wired’s Future Money Conference.
