The Job:

Chief Financial Officer

About You:

We’re looking for a proactive, energetic and ambitious Chief Financial Officer with a proven track record in developing and growing a SaaS or software licensing business to partner with the CEO to develop and implement the strategy to fulfil our ambitions. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience operating in a PE-backed SaaS company going through increasingly complex and exciting growth cycles. You also have a reassuring ability to provide influential relationships with and sustain confidence with our investors.

The role requires a CFO who can adapt to the growth and change in the industry and can utilize new technology, and create new and different approaches to stay ahead of the market. The CFO must be agile, resourceful, deliberate, and comfortable in an environment of rapid change.

You have excellent technical ability to identify and rectify areas of improvement in both financial and operational performance through the analysis and interpretation of our data. You will also be able to home in on the real KPI’s of the business and be able to communicate this effectively across the business to support our drive for growth and the achievement of our targets.

  • Lead, develop and implement financial and operational plans to drive growth, and extend finance based decision-making throughout the company. You will be responsible for all finance activities including accounting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, financial systems, audit, reporting, insurance, and tax. The position is also responsible for managing the company books and establishing and maintaining relationships with the Board, the investor community (VCT, VC, PE, etc.), external auditors, analysts, and all other external parties that require financial information.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting. Development and preparation of the key financial budgeting and forecasting tools to support the leadership team to both manage the business and focus on the KPIs to drive the maximum benefit from our resources.

  • Reporting of Key Financial Data. Oversight of the monthly/quarterly reporting and communication of this information in an easily digested format for the Leadership Team, the Board and our investors.  Preparation and presentation of summarised key financial data at the quarterly board meetings. Work with CEO and senior management to develop and implement strategic business plans and operating initiatives.

Building a first class finance function.  Developing and establishing ahead-of-the-curve processes, people and systems to provide the Leadership Team with a best in class finance function able to address the growing needs of the business before they’re needed. Bringing your experience to maximise the efficiency of the finance function reflective of a 21st century SaaS business.

M&A. Work with the leadership team and the Board to take a leading role on all major transactions including capital raises, debt, major partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Building Relationships with the leadership team, Board and external partners through effective communication of our financial information such that you are seen as a trusted advisor and engine for supporting growth.

  imageSkills & Knowledge:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with proven CFO or FD experience in a fast-growing business. We’d really like you to have worked in a SaaS business before,

  • Experience of implementing financial systems, software and building a finance team.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Previous PE-backed business experience or IPO exposure.

  • Experience with software companies and revenue recognition from software subscriptions highly desired.

  • Experienced with high growth and highly demanding, deadline driven environments.

  • Exceptional business acumen with a high degree of integrity and ethics (this is really important to us).
