Ian has over 30 years experience leveraging technology for competitive advantage in Financial Services and retail distribution. He is an experienced Chair and Board member who combines a strong customer and commercial ethos with global experience in Marketing, Distribution, Operations, Transformational Change, Risk & Regulation.
Ian’s executive experience encompasses being Managing Director of a successful B2B start-up, leading the design & launch of HSBCs first digital propositions, chairing the UK Chip & PIN programme, UK chair of the pioneering Mondex electronic cash service, winning the Institute of Financial Services innovation award for HSBCs digital TV service and designing and launching a new bank with a unique proposition in Asia. He has successfully sponsored Fintech initiatives and introduced customer management practices delivering successive years of market leading customer engagement.
Ian is currently a non executive director of a leading international bank and executive coach. He has chaired and advised a number of fintechs and has been the European Marketing Head for HSBC, Deputy Chief Executive of a full service bank in Asia and managed HSBCs Retail & Commercial Banking operations (including contact centres and digital support) across 60 countries for over 50m customers.
When not working, Ian spends time with his wife and three daughters as they embark on their careers, and enjoys golf, travel, hill-walking and great food.
