Lucy has almost 20 years experience in financial regulation undertaking a variety of strategic, advisory, and operational roles. She currently provides freelance compliance advice and support to SMEs and individuals applying for authorisation, as well as a range of governance services to firms seeking to enhance Board effectiveness and competency.
Lucy left the Financial Conduct Authority in the summer of 2016 where she led a department of 80 staff assessing over 5000 regulatory decisions a year including firms applying for FCA authorisation, existing regulated entities wishing to vary their regulated activities, and those seeking to acquire regulated firms of all shapes and sizes.
In her career Lucy has supervised entities from a broad range of financial sectors including banking, insurance, investment firms, and intermediaries by identifying and mitigating key prudential and conduct risks. She was responsible for overseeing the delivery of the FSA’s Treating Customers Fairly programme across 9000 small firms.
