
With 15 years of experience, Mate specialises in growth, business strategy, branding and marketing communications. His ‘Brand. Life Beyond Product’ approach is focusing on how only brands – not products – can truly adapt to the changing tech business landscape. He has been passionately engaged with the remote-first business model since 2016.
Mate is a remote mentor and advisor at tech organisations in Europe, US and APAC (ie. Google Launchpad, 500 Startups, APX and Chinaccelerator). As the founder of Water Lily Pond, a remote-first brand communications company, he works with startups, scaleups and SMEs (SaaS/hardware/B2B/B2C) across industries and leads a 100% distributed global team of experts. They launched Pitches of Paradise, a creative pitch deck design and storytelling solution for tech startups.
For 12 years, Mate was working with global brands (ie. Colgate, Heineken and Pfizer) at leading ad agencies (i.e. Publicis, DDB, Grey and Saatchi) in London, Prague and Budapest. He was helping blockbuster pharmaceutical brands (Bayer Healthcare, Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, GSK, Janssen, Gilead, AstraZeneca, Teva and Takeda) across various therapy areas (immunology, diabetes, oncology, cardiovascular, haemophilia, HIV-1/HCV, oral health, etc.) launch new products, brands and integrated promotional campaigns with over $800k of marketing communications budget. He also worked with smaller innovative pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotechnology companies, and digital health startups.
