Rohit is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of rich experience in financial services, covering areas such as lending, banking, and payment systems. He brings a blend of international exposure and commercial leadership, which reflects in his approach to business strategy, propositions, and process design.
Currently, Rohit leads CardAlpha, a UK-based fintech start-up he founded with his co-founder & CTO, which offers innovative point-of-sale payment processing and no-code web-store solutions to independent retailers. He successfully raised early-stage funding from SFC Capital and has built successful fintech platform, evidenced by a 45% quarter-on-quarter increase in transaction volumes.
Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Rohit served as a Strategy Consultant in the UK fintech industry, aiding E-money firms in shaping and executing their business and operating strategies. His knowledge encompasses areas like electronic money issuance, merchant acquiring, and retail banking verticals. He has collaborated with successful fintech firms and private equity clients, including Revolut, TransferWise, WorldRemit, Pollen Street Capital (UK), and Actera (Turkey).
In his prior roles, Rohit was part of the leadership team at MasterCard, where he worked as the SVP for Merchant Acceptance Development. Before MasterCard, he managed Visa’s E-Money/Prepaid card portfolio in Asia Pacific and held strategic roles with ICICI Bank and GE-Money, leading teams across different domains of financial services.
