Sotiris has worked in investment banking for more than 20 years, he is currently the founder and CEO of Finsmart Ltd, the brainchild of years of knowledge and innovative thinking, it is a collaborative business bringing the best possible digital solutions for primary capital markets.
In his most recent role as a Managing Director for Corporate and Institutional Digital for HSBC Bank plc, Sotiris lead a number of digital initiatives and transformation programmes across the bank. His areas of focus are client facing platforms and mobile apps; AI & machine learning (bots, recommenders, analytics), Asset tokenisation, Fintech partnerships and strategic investments.
Prior to this, Sotiris held several senior positions within structuring and credit trading, lately as the Head of Electronic Trading within HSBC’s Credit Trading with responsibility for both internally improving electronification of the business globally as well as partnering up with key fintech companies and internalising their technologies. Sotiris has previously worked at a variety of banks, including UBS AG, Toronto Dominion and Dresdner Kleinwort in Fixed Income front office roles.
Sotiris is passionate about advancing the digitisation of the financial sector and working with fast-pace, diverse, teams to deliver it. He has worked closely with a number of Fintech companies and acquired a deep understanding of the market and the latest technologies impacting the banking industry and is a regular speaker/panellist in financial and fintech conferences.
