Nomura Asset Management chooses Foxberry’s foxf9 for its growing ETF business

London, 10 May 2022: Foxberry Ltd, the provider of financial indices and front-office technology for the financial sector, today announced that Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“NAM”) has chosen Foxberry’s foxf9® platform to help grow its ETF business with new products and capabilities.

Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd., the core company within the Investment Management Division of Nomura Group, is one of the leading investment managers in Japan with assets under management of $570bn. NAM provides Exchange Traded Funds (“ETFs”) under the “NEXT FUNDS” brand, which is on a quick growth trajectory as exemplified recently with the largest ESG ETF launch ever in Japan.

Osamu Okuyama, Head of ETF Business Department at Nomura Asset Management, commented from Tokyo: “As we grow our ETF business with new products and capabilities, we are excited to use Foxberry’s foxf9 platform as it seamlessly combines index creation and integrated
ESG analytics.”

foxf9 is an open architecture platform. This allows customers to use multiple data sources, including from other index providers, and incorporate ESG data from numerous sources in combination with their own analysis for index development and analytics. With foxf9, a user can backtest portfolio models, screen on sustainability parameters, auto-generate index rule books and pitchbooks, and instantly analyse index compositions, including sustainability performance. The user-friendly web interface means no programming skills are required.

Henrik Brunlid, CEO of Foxberry, commented from London: “The capabilities of foxf9 are becoming recognised globally and we are pleased about expanding in Japan, and playing a part in the fantastic growth of Nomura Asset Management’s ETF franchise.”
