PixelPin wins Rising Star Award

PixelPin, the Level39 member which is transforming the traditional password-based method of security,  has won this year’s Rising Star category in the Mobile Innovations Awards organised by Mobile Innovations Magazine.

PixelPin leverages the power of visual memory recall and emotion to create a security product that’s also exciting, engaging and colourful to use.

Instead of remembering cumbersome character strings, uppercase, lowercase letters and numbers, users identify four chosen points on a picture of their choosing.

Brian Taylor, PixelPin’s CEO, thought up the idea following an extensive career working in military communications and surveillance.

PixelPin, which has already been adopted by a number of websites, has secured a government grant from Innovate UK and won funding from the London LaunchPad competition. They were also part of the Telefonica Wayra accelerator.

Continuing with their style of out-of-the-box thinking, the PixelPin team have organised a thought-leadership event here at Level39 on October 15, bringing together a diverse panel of cyber-security experts, and a leading Instagram influencer, to discuss the growth of cyber-security and the visual web.
